A mineral tallow balm made with 15% non-nano zinc oxide for sun-filled days. Grass-fed tallow and kokum butter deeply moisturize, while astaxanthin, sea buckthorn, and hibiscus reduce oxidative stress for a healthy, sun-soaked glow. Scented with sweet orange and vanilla.
Low in PUFAs. Coconut oil free. Suitable for all skin types.
Apply before time outdoors, blending until white cast dissipates. Allow a few minutes for it to absorb.
Tallow sun balm is resistant to water, however we recommend reapplication after swimming (or sweating).

Our sun balm tubes are made from green polyethylene (PE), a bioplastic created by fermenting sugarcane to produce ethanol, which is then converted into polyethylene.
Unlike traditional polyethylene derived from fossil fuels, sugarcane-based PE is renewable and sequesters CO2 during the plant’s growth, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50–80%.

As soon as the first collection dropped, I ran to the site and bought every item, and I have to say—the Sun Balm is my desert island product. I've been using it every day and simply cannot get over how incredible it smells! The texture is also absolutely perfect, it clears up my breakouts, and I feel so good knowing I’m using something clean and earth-conscious.
My morning routine—starting with the Gentle Enzyme Cleanser, then the Sun Balm, and a spritz of the Desert Mist Facial Spray—is my favorite way to start each day. In the evening, there’s nothing better than coming home, removing my makeup, washing with the cleanser, misting again, and sealing it all in with the Tallow Balm.
Flora Fauna has truly nailed it. These products not only make my skin look and feel amazing, but they also make my skincare a daily ritual I look forward to. I’ll be restocking these holy grail products for the rest of my life!
BEST tallow sun screen I’ve tried.. and I’ve tried them all!! Easy to apply, doesn’t leave a white cast, and blends super well. Plus after wearing it for just 2 weeks my tan is perfect. Found my go-to sunscreen.
Tanning oil that also protects my skin. I’ve tried a lot of tallow sunscreens and they all have a weird texture and leave a white cast. Not only does this one smell insanely good, i think the antioxidants actually protect my skin and make me tanner than when I don’t use it??
The first time I tried this Tallow Sun Balm, I was really impressed. I love the faint orange/vanilla scent, it hydrates my dry skin well, and it leaves a really beautiful glowy finish. However, I can't give it 5 stars for a couple reasons. Firstly, after the first several uses, it developed these little white grainy particles in the bottle (crystallization of the plant butters) that got all over my face and hair upon application. When I reached out to customer service, they were very kind and helpful and told me that I need to soak the bottle in very warm water to dissolve the particles. I did this, and it fixed the problem temporarily, but after about a week, the particles are back. This seems a little too high maintenance of a face product for me if I have to keep doing this. My other two small complaints are that it does leave a slight white cast, but I have found mixing it with a glow serum or tinted sunscreen or foundation product helps with that. Also, it takes quite a while to dry down. My hair doesn't stick to my face, but my face feels wet/tacky for a while afterwards.
Overall, I think this will be a really nice product for me through the winter to keep my skin hydrated, but I am unsure if I will repurchase in the future.
Love this sunscreen! So smooth and matches any skin tone. Doesn’t feel greasy or sticky. And great size for the price compared to other tallow based SPFs.

I had been using this the last few months and have been very happy with it. It smells wonderful and blends well. This weekend I spent several hours on the lake and it worked great!
I am always researching and eager to try clean products and this one is a keeper! I have used it for everyday use but the real test was playing tennis in 90+ temperatures and humidity. I was shocked how well it stayed on and it felt light and did not run into my eyes like other sunscreens have. What a great product! I highly recommend and happy to have found this product. Not to mention that it smells SO GOOD and I love the packaging and branding.
I’ve tried tons of sunscreens—sprays, lotions, popular mineral sunscreens from sephora/ professional brands—and most felt gross or irritated my skin. I randomly found this tallow sun balm and was a little suspicious at first, but it’s the only one I've felt genuinely good about using.
The ingredients are super clean: grass-fed tallow, zinc oxide, and a few nourishing oils. No chemicals, no fake smells. It’s moisturizing without being greasy, and leaves my skin soft and happy. I’ve worn it on long hikes in blazing sun and never got burned (I'm somewhat tan, but can definitely still burn). The zinc oxide gives solid protection, with a slight white cast that blends in quickly.
It goes on smooth, not thick or pasty, and a little lasts forever. It really does smell like orange/vanilla—no overpowering tropical vibes (also can't tell they use beef tallow). I can tell that it's made by a small company that cares about quality. I feel good using it, whether I’m at the beach or just out and about.
